I love to paint, no doubt, but I often feel very overwhelmed by the process. Kind of like when writers say they have writer’s block. When I feel this way I try to find inspiration from others and one of my favorite things to do is to take a quick class over at Pinot’s Palette or Wine and Canvas. I can relax with a glass of wine among fellow art lovers and create.
Here is a few of the sessions I took.
Since I live near Chicago and I love Jazz, I was excited to do this painting.
I started with the skyline and the buildings in the background. They make it so simple by giving you instruction and the minimal colors you need for your painting.
After this came the winding piano keyboard and the rest followed. I love this simple painting.
I also took one of their classes for painting pets. My sister’s beloved dog Molly had recently passed away so I wanted to honor her memory for my sister.
These paintings were done in Acrylic on 16 x 20 canvases.
Pinot’s Palette are individually owned franchises and are found in cities across America.
