Life can be a challenge – Don’t you agree?
We put such high expectations on ourselves and it can get overwhelming at times. Everything from your home, your job, your daily life, your finances and your health is an ongoing adventure that can sometimes be a challenge.
What if you had the resources to make this easier? Would you explore them? Are there times in your life when you just put your head in your hands and wish there was someone who could help you? Mentor you on what you can do to improve things? Learn to see those challenges as opportunities.
If you are like me, then I already know your answer is “YES!” So let’s work on these things together. Find your inspiration to make your home comfy and cozy, a place where you feel safe and at your best. Find passion in your pursuit in a career to support yourself and your family. Find inspiration and motivation to be the best YOU in your daily life. Find your way to becoming self sustainable in your finances. Find your inner beauty and maintain a healthy body.
We all learned how to become an adult with our surroundings at home. Your parents, grandparents, siblings, and friends all had a influence on you while you were growing up. They were your support system. “The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly” so to speak. What we don’t realize is that those people, as important as they are to you, do not define the Adult You. All this time of becoming who you are today, you made choices. Some good some not so good and as a result you are where you are and who you are today.
You may be in a stage of your life where you are happy and content and are looking for some fun and inspiring things to fill your days or you may be looking for a “Do Over”. Regardless of where you are on your journey, you will find something that you can relate to in Life Starts at Home. You will be able to make changes, be inspired, and become a better you!

My Journey to Life Starts at Home
I know you are wondering who I am and why do I think that Life Starts at Home will solve your problems and provide you with motivation to make changes. I know because I’ve been there. I grew up with all the influences that I mentioned and I’m here to tell you that it can get better and it does get better!
At the age of 17 I found myself pregnant, struggling to do the right thing, and facing issues that I had no idea how to handle. My life to that point was not all roses and I just wanted to be loved, to be noticed, to feel wanted. Now, in my 50’s I know that my 17 year old self was so very naive and had no clue. Even in my 20’s and 30’s I struggled to find myself. It wasn’t really until my late 30’s, after two divorces, that I realized that I was not going to find love from others until I loved myself first. There was nothing more freeing than understanding what that meant.
Once I began to love myself, I realized that having the love of others although, a very good thing, was only secondary to me loving myself. I felt that I could finally say what I wanted in life, who I wanted in my life, and how I was going to manage my life. I did not need to depend on someone else doing all that for me.
Then it happened! I found someone that loved me for me. Not me trying to love someone into loving me. What a difference that made! When that happened I found a relationship that was giving and not taking, supportive and uplifting.
All the things that followed then became easy to achieve. I finished my Bachelors Degree, then my Masters in Accounting, went on to get a Masters in Human Resources, a Certificate in Interior Home Decor, an Enrolled Agent status, a Licensed Realtor and now a successful Blogger!
I have been very happily married for the past 21 years, have three beautiful children, now all adults finding their way, and eight grandchildren. We have a home in IL and we just purchased our retirement home in NC. With all our hard work and efforts we plan to retire within the next 5 years or sooner!
Of course, all this social media was not available to me during most of this time like it is now. In fact I met my husband online (AOL) when that first became a thing. LOL. That’s a story you won’t want to miss on the blog! If I had the opportunity to find help, solutions, inspiration so readily available as it is now, I feel that my journey may have been a lot easier.
So now I want to give back. I want to share my stories, my knowledge, my experiences with YOU! I want to make a difference in people’s lives. I look forward to hearing your stories and how I can help you if even with just a simple quote, blog post, tip sheet, or pretty graphic.
I am on all social media sites so you can follow me along on each platform or the one you use the most! I can’t wait to see you there!
